Artist Spotlight: Sherm "Back For The 1st Time"

Born in Queens, New York Sherm fell in love with hip hop at A very early age. Listening to Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Jay-Z, The Lox and many other artists. At the age of 11 Sherm began writing his own rhymes, not really knowing what he was doing he would sit in class when he should have been taking notes and try to put songs together. As the years passed he studied classic albums such as “Ready to die”, “Reasonable Doubt” and “The Chronic”. He began to take music more serious writing lyrics to his favorite tracks on each of those albums. After filling a notebook full of rhymes he realized it was time to put it all on wax.

In June of 2010 he released his 1st mixtape “Back For The 1st Time” and it has been highly regarded ever since. Now you can hear his music played on online radio stations daily and he has appeared on numerous hip hop websites. His style is like nothing you’ve heard before. He’s concious, witty and his wordplay is out of this world. In 2011 Sherm will drop his highly anticipated second Mixtape “Back For The 1st Time pt 2”.

Legal Trouble: Ja Rule Pleads Guilty To Gun Charge & Will Serve 2 Years In Jail

Rapper Ja Rule, born Jeffrey Atkins, pled guilty today in a New York courtroom to a felony weapons charge from back in July 2007. Police found a loaded semiautomatic gun in the rear door of his sports car after being pulled over for speeding.

He is expected to be sentenced sometime in February where he will receive two years in prison according to the terms of his plea deal.

Mike Epps Caught On Tape Punching A Photographer

While in Detroit with his wife last Saturday (11/27) at the Key Club. Actor/Comedian Mike Epps punched a photographer that was harassing them and a HUGE brawl broke out.

Epps says the photog was talking trash to him and his wife while filming them inside the restaurant...

"It was a private celebration for my wife's birthday. I asked the photographer numerous times not to film, but he refused to let up. I then attempted to retrieve the tape from the camera."

BV: Do you think you'll end up with a celebrity?
CM: No, I'll probably end up with an executive that works at AT&T or something. I need a super-regular guy because someone has to have their feet on the ground. I'm literally on an airplane more than most people are in their car so I need somebody who's kind of chill.

BV: Where are you going to meet this guy with the lifestyle you lead?
CM: Probably at the mall or something (laughs). Maybe when I'm out to eat and he's waiting tables or something.
