Keri Hilson Talks About Being Music's Go-To Hook Girl

"Sometimes I do feel like I’m kinda becoming the go-to hook lady, but I’m cool with that. It allows me to express myself in different ways. I get to step into somebody else’s world and show people what else I can do, so it’s a lot of fun doing that.”
Keri told BET. Of course, her efforts aren’t the same for every feature. When collaborating with The Clipse her train of thought can’t be the same for the likes of a Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls or Mary J. Blige.
“It depends on who it’s for, If I’m stepping into say, Britney’s world to write a song for her or to feature for it, it’s a different channel of thought than to say, Mary J. Blige or Toni Braxton or someone like that. Or hip-hop, you approach it differently. Even the Asher Roths are different from the Fabolouses, so you just approach things differently.”
